On May 28, 1979 Abba were on the Spanish variety show "300 Millones". "300 Millones" was a show from Madrid, Spain. And it was filmed at Roma Studios. Here are links for it... Well from November 1st-15th of 1975, Abba did a small televised tour of the U.S. Their stops on this tour consisted of performing on "The Mike Douglas Show", "The Merv Griffin Show", "American Bandstand", "Dinah(Dinah Shore's Talk show)", "The first episode of Saturday Night Live", and this show... ABBA In Switzerland aired in February of 1979. Around the middle of that month. It was most likely made to promote their 79'-80' tour. Frida Lyngstad

Well here's the final part of "Post ABBA"... this part is about Frida or Anni-Frid Lyngstad. The song I have for you today isn't from the mid or late 80's, but it's a song ABBA recorded shortly before they broke up. The main singer in here is Frida, and ABBA recorded it May 8th, 1982. CHESS

"CHESS" was a musical from 1984, with lyrics written by Tim Rice and music by Benny & Bjorn. This play involves a romantic triangle btw 2 players in a (hint, hint) chess championship. And a woman who manages one and falls in love with the other. The theatrical version of "CHESS" opened in London's West End in 1986, which this version played for 3 yrs. A much edited version opened on Broadway in 1988. The Broadway version wasn't liked to much by critics. America just wasn't ready for an European musical. POST ABBA

"Post ABBA" is going to be the second of the ABBA mini series here on ABBA-Fanclub. Well, the ABBA member I'm going to start this series out with is Agnetha. Since 1983, Agnetha has mainly just recorded songs by herself. The first solo album that Agnetha came out with after ABBA broke up was called "Wrap your arms around me". Which I'm pretty sure you can buy on http://www.amazon.com/ . Then around 86', Agnetha recorded at least 2 songs with the Swedish singer and actor... Ola Hakonsson. A little Post ABBA trivia, Ola is the same age as Bjorn. Well, finally here is the 2 songs Ola and Agnetha recorded together in 1986, "Fly like the Eagle" and "The way you are". Well this next ABBA song " Thank you for the music " was originally recorded in 1977. And this is probably as popular if not more than " Dancing Queen " or " Take a chance on me ". Agnetha is the main singer in this particular song, which would make sense... since in the song it says " I am the girl with golden hair... ". ABBA performed Thank you for the music... several times through out the late 70's till the early 80's. One of the other pop groups that sang it were " The Carpenters ". Sorry for not posting for like 7 or so days on here. I had some family fly down to visit this last week, and since yesterday I've been visiting my grandparents who live in Alabama. So enough about my family... ha ha. The 2nd song in our " 2 part unheard ABBA collection " is called " Just Like That ". I'm not really sure about the date of this song( since it wasn't actually on one their albums ), but I'm guessing it's one of their last songs. Well, since we're done with Classic ABBA... Today and tomorrow I'm going to post 2 unheard ABBA songs. The song I'm posting today is called " Under my Sun ". This song was recorded during their 1979-80 tour. Their's 2 small bloopers in it. The first one is of Bjorn counting off the group, and the second is of either Frida or Agnetha rushing during part of the song. It's rather funny... But that only lasts a second or 2. Well, here's the end of our four part series. Well this last edition features Anni-Frid Lyngstad. The same as Agnetha, Anni-Frid wasn't really part of any group in the 60's. Like I said earlier, Benny was a member of the Swedish pop group " The Hep Stars " in the late 60's. The video clip in this addition of Classic ABBA, is titled " I natt jag dromde ". Most of their songs were kind've up beat, sourt've like " The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, etc. ". But this song is one of their more quieter ones. For awhile in the late 60's, Agnetha performed with a folk music group similar to Bjorn's. But most of the time in late 60's she just performed as a single instead of with a group. And the video I have in this new addition of Classic ABBA, is one of her solo songs from 1969. When she was only 19 yrs. old. Pretty impressive huh? Benny Andersson

Benny Bror Goran Andersson was born on December 16, 1946 in Stockholm, Sweden. Both his father & his grandfather inherited the music gene to him, Benny was introduced to the accordion at very early age. With music lessons, Benny was to basically able to pick up any type of instrument and be able to play it. After he finished high school, he joined the Swedish beat group " The Hep Stars ". Which broke up in the late 60's. During one of the Hep Stars' tours, Benny met the soon-to-be-famous Bjorn Ulvaeus. Soon after, their girlfriends Anni-Frid Lyngstad & Agnetha Faltskog joined them to try to make it big in the music business. Then around 1973, they formed the popular Swedish pop group " ABBA ". After ABBA broke up in 82, Benny & Bjorn wrote the music for Tim Rice's " Chess ". In 2002, he was appointed Professor by the Swedish gov. He currently lives in Sweden with his wife of 26 yrs., Mona Norklit.

Even though this ABBA song was never recorded in English( the title translates to Jehovah's Witness ), the song was written and performed in honor of their manager Stig Anderson. Who was celebrating his 50 birthday in 1981. Unfortunately Stig Anderson died of a heart attack on September 12, 1997 at the age of 66. Anni-Frid Lyngstad

Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad was born in Narvik, Norway on November 15, 1945. Around the end of WW2, her mother( Synni Lyngstad ) took her family to Torshalla, Sweden to escape the post-war retributions dished out to " collaborators ". When Anni-Frid was only 2 yrs. old, her mother died. Soon after, her grandmother became responsible for taking care of her. In 1957, at the age of 13, she started her show business. Which was at a Red Cross charity event. When she was 15, she met/ soon after married Ragnar Fredriksson. She shortly became pregnant with her first son, Hans. Which at the time she was only 16 yrs. old. The next child she had with him was her daughter Liselotte. Since she wasn't going to give up her career, they got a divorce. Anni-Frid ended up leaving her children with him & sadly also leaving her grandmother as well. Soon after she moved to Stockholm she met her second husband Benny Andersson, for which they soon became romantically involved. Sometime after they'd met Bjorn and Agnetha, all four soon became the world famous group ABBA. In 1981, Benny and Anni-Frid divorced after being a couple for around 12 yrs. Her last husband Ruzzo Reuss died in 1999 after being married to her for 7 years. Her daughter Liselotte died in a car crash in 1997. Her only grandson is Jonathan. She now lives in Frilbourg, Sweden.

ABBA IN CONCERT

Around a month or so ago, I bought the dvd ABBA IN CONCERT. Even though this dvd is of the next to last tours ABBA ever did together, I think it's one of the best ABBA concerts I've ever seen. The first part of the dvd shows songs and scenes from when they were in Canada & The U.S. , which was the first part of the tour. But most of the dvd is from the 6 nights were they performed at The Wembley Arena, then they finished the tour in Ireland. Unfortunately they didn't film in Ireland. The Bonus Features were the songs " The Way Old Friends Do ", " I Have A Dream ", and " Thankyou For The Music ". The 2 interviews on there are with Director Urban Lasson and Promoter/Tour Producer Thomas Johansson. I recommend this dvd to any ABBA Fan. You can buy it from http://www.amazon.com/ .

Bjorn Ulvaeus

If you guys remember from earlier, Bjorn is the guitar player who was married to Agnetha Faltskog. Bjorn Christian Ulvaeus was born on April 25, 1945. Then 18 yrs. later in 1963... his folk music group " The Hootenanny Singers " made their TV debut in a Swedish talent contest. On July 6, 1971, Bjorn married Agnetha Faltskog. They had 2 kids together Linda(1972) and Peter(1977), Bjorn & Agnetha divorced on June 9, 1980. In 1974, ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest for " Waterloo ". Then on January 5, 1981, he married Lena Kallersjo. They also had 2 kids together Emma(1982) and Anna(1986). In 2000 he was nominated for an award for the musical " Mamma Mia ", then 2 yrs. later he was nominated for 2 Tony Awards with Benny Andersson for the same musical. And in 2002, with Benny Andersson, he won a Ivor Novello Special International Award.

Incase any of you guys aren't sure which one she is... She was married to the guitar player, and she was one of the main singers from the group. She was born Ase Agneta Faltskog... April 5, 1950.
Making her famous, In 1968 she got her 1st # one " I Was So in Love ". Then on July 6, 1971 she married Bjorn Ulvaeus. They had 2 kids together Linda Ulvaeus & Christian Ulvaeus, Agnetha &
Bjorn split up in 1978 but divorced on June 9, 1980. On April 6, 1974 she won an award for
" Waterloo ". Then on December 15, 1990 she married for the 2nd time, but got divorced from that husband in 1993. Then some happiness came into her life on January 27, 2001 when she bacame a grandmother to Tilda Frida Eliza Ulvaeus-Ekengren. She currently lives on the Swedish island of Ekero. Since then... In 2002 she recorded a solo album in Sweden, and in 2004 she released 2 other albums. Also on VH1's 100 Greatest Women of Rock N Roll she tied with Anni-Frid Lynstad with being ranked # 70.
