CHESS

"CHESS" was a musical from 1984, with lyrics written by Tim Rice and music by Benny & Bjorn. This play involves a romantic triangle btw 2 players in a (hint, hint) chess championship. And a woman who manages one and falls in love with the other. The theatrical version of "CHESS" opened in London's West End in 1986, which this version played for 3 yrs. A much edited version opened on Broadway in 1988. The Broadway version wasn't liked to much by critics. America just wasn't ready for an European musical.
