Benny Andersson


Benny Bror Goran Andersson was born on December 16, 1946 in Stockholm, Sweden. Both his father & his grandfather inherited the music gene to him, Benny was introduced to the accordion at very early age. With music lessons, Benny was to basically able to pick up any type of instrument and be able to play it. After he finished high school, he joined the Swedish beat group " The Hep Stars ". Which broke up in the late 60's. During one of the Hep Stars' tours, Benny met the soon-to-be-famous Bjorn Ulvaeus. Soon after, their girlfriends Anni-Frid Lyngstad & Agnetha Faltskog joined them to try to make it big in the music business. Then around 1973, they formed the popular Swedish pop group " ABBA ". After ABBA broke up in 82, Benny & Bjorn wrote the music for Tim Rice's " Chess ". In 2002, he was appointed Professor by the Swedish gov. He currently lives in Sweden with his wife of 26 yrs., Mona Norklit.
